1,159 health centers received more than $150 million in grant awards in July 2013 to help their uninsured patients and others in their approved service areas gain affordable health insurance coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplaces, Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Program.
Health centers must comply with all federal and state requirements. Consult with your Primary Care Association if you are not sure of the requirements in your state.
Requirements apply to all outreach & assistance workers, whether or not they are supported by Outreach & Enrollment Assistance supplemental funding.
Requirements differ for health centers in states with their own health insurance marketplaces (see the list of Conditionally Approved State Marketplaces). For example, if you are in a State with its own state-based marketplace, you do not need to complete a Federal Certified Application Counselor application unless your state has determined that you must do so.
Reporting is essential. HRSA will place the entire section 330 grant award on drawdown restriction for any health centers who received outreach & enrollment supplemental funding that do not submit their quarterly progress reports.
