In 2023, health centers:

  • Served about 6.4 million dental patients
  • Provided more than  15.4 million dental visits
  • Provided dental sealants to nearly 59% of children ages 6-9 at elevated risk of tooth decay
  • Employed 20,567 oral health full-time equivalents, including:
    • Dentists: 5,363
    • Dental hygienists: 2,821
    • Dental therapists: 40
    • Other dental personnel: 12,344
