A thriving health care workforce promotes health in people and communities.
What can affect worker well-being?
Health care worker burnout is a major concern. That concern rises as these factors increase:
- Staffing shortages
- Working hours and workloads
- Violence against health care workers
The U.S. Surgeon General issued an advisory on Health Worker Burnout. This website highlights the key messages. It offers positive actions and tools to support those actions.
Why do you support workforce well-being?
Through our work, we hope to:
- Improve quality of care
- Recruit and retain more health center workers
How’s worker well-being at health centers?
We asked health centers to take a survey to find out. The results were positive. Learn more about our Health Center Workforce Well-Being Survey.
How are you using the survey results?
We are:
- Developing national strategies for improvement
- Delivering broad and targeted technical assistance (TA)*
- Sharing evidence-based practices
*HRSA-supported health centers can see options and sign up on the Workforce Well-being TA site.
