    In 2023, health centers served a record number of patients, over 31 million patients, representing 9% growth (+2.7 million patients) since 2020.

  • 2. School-based care surge

    In 2023, health centers served 1.1 million school-based service site patients - that's 454,000 additional school-based service site patients - a 69% increase since 2020.

  • 3. Public housing outreach boost

    In 2023, health centers served 1.3 million additional patients in or around public housing (6.4 million patients total) - a 24% increase since 2020.

  • 4. Prenatal care expansion

    Health centers saw 585,000 prenatal care patients in 2023, that's 33,000 additional prenatal care patients (a 6% increase since 2020).

Since 2020, health centers screened an additional 858,000 additional patients for colorectal cancer (+35%), 470,000 additional patients for cervical cancer (+12%), and 414,000 patients for breast cancer (+29%).

    Health centers hosted over 66,000 pre- and post-graduate trainees in 2023, a 12% increase from 2022, including nearly 6,000 additional medical trainees.
