Health Center Program Service Expansion: School-Based Service Sites (SBSS) funding expands access to health center services by increasing the number of patients who access comprehensive primary health care services through Health Center Program service delivery sites located at schools.

Award recipients will increase the number of patients who access comprehensive primary health care services through Health Center Program service delivery sites located at schools by:
SBSS expanded services include general primary medical care, mental health, substance use disorder, oral health, vision, and/or enabling services.
Submission and approval of the SBSS NCC will provide funding for the SBSS year 2 budget period (May 1, 2023, through April 30, 2024) for health centers originally funded in May 2022.
The FY 2023 SBSS NCC due date is 5 p.m. ET December 12, 2022, in the HRSA Electronic Handbooks (EHBs).
HRSA requires SBSS award recipients originally funded September 2021 (Cohort 1) or May 2022 (Cohort 2) to submit semi-annual progress reports (SAPRs) until full completion of all projects.
