Fiscal year (FY) 2023 Early Childhood Development (ECD) (HRSA-23-028) funding will improve developmental outcomes among children ages 0-5 served by health centers through increased screenings and needed follow up.

Summary
FY 2023 ECD funding will be available to support approximately 150 health centers to increase developmental screenings and access to appropriate follow-up services for children ages 0-5, and to expand, enhance, and further integrate ECD expertise into care teams.
Applicants must propose to use ECD funds to achieve two objectives:
- Increase the number of children ages 0-5 who receive recommended developmental screenings.
- Increase the number of children and their families assisted with accessing appropriate follow-up services within 30 days of a developmental screening identifying an area of concern.
Applicants will advance progress on the ECD objectives by implementing activities within four focus areas:
- Workforce recruitment, retention, development, and engagement;
- Patient/caregiver experience;
- Access and affordability; and
- Population health and health-related social needs.
Who Can Apply
Applicants must be Health Center Program operational (H80) grant award recipients under sections 330(e), (g), (h), and/or (i) of the Public Health Service Act.

Complete and submit to Grants.gov by 11:59 p.m. ET on March 17, 2023.
Step 2
Complete and submit to the HRSA Electronic Handbooks (EHBs) by 5 p.m. ET on April 18, 2023.
